Holy shizz!
Well, we suppose if you REALLY loved any of the characters in FX’s Sons of Anarchy, you probably already watched the finale last night — so this isn’t really meant for you, unless you’re a glutton for punishment… because damn did the body count go up!
And it wasn’t just expendable characters!

It’s so haaaaaard to say gooooooodbyeeeeeee to Jax Tellerrrrrrrrrrrr OOOOOoooOOO!
That’s right: the show’s protagonist did NOT survive the series finale! But he went out in the best way that he could… though we’re sure some fans are upset that he’s dead at all.

Charlie Hunnam basically had a way out alive, but chose to honor the life he was leading for seven seasons and rode a dang motorcycle right into an oncoming semi-truck after getting into a police chase with a ton of cops.
Fitting for the former head of a biker gang, no?? LOLz!
Luckily, he was also able to tie up all his loose ends (AKA murder a bunch of enemies), including Barosky and August Marks. He even confessed to the D.A. about killing Gemma and Unser, where to find their bodies, and even revealed his knowledge about Tara’s murder (he even finally visited her grave!).
He then stepped down from the SoA for good, giving the president role to Chibs, who elected Tig to lead with him at second in command.
Jax also convinced his former chapter to make it look like he escaped from them (because you don’t get out alive) instead of SAMCRO just refusing to kill him, so the other chapters of the gang around the nation wouldn’t get butthurt about it and go after them.
That’s when Jax hopped on his daddy’s old hog and went out to where his dad died. He then shot at a police car, got himself chased by every cop in existence, and went out in a crash of glory when he let himself be hit by a semi — driven by Milo:
