Sophie Turner is opening up about navigating motherhood as a single parent.
As we’ve been following, the Game of Thrones star’s ex-husband Joe Jonas filed for divorce last year leading to a messy battle over custody of their two little girls Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. And over a year later, the exes have finally finalized things with a judge’s approval. And while the details of their settlement, which they reportedly came to earlier this month, have remained confidential, Sophie is opening up about life as a single mom.
During a conversation with The Sunday Times published on Sunday, the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star spoke candidly about getting into character to portray infamous jewel thief Joan Hannington for her new series Joan — who was ALSO a single mom during the height of her larceny. Sophie dished:
“If I hadn’t been a mother, I don’t know if I would have been able to bring the same energy that I did into it.”

We’re sure that helped her really understand Joan on an emotional level! And while the 28-year-old may not be navigating the same challenges as Joan once the cameras stop rolling, she’s finding single motherhood to be quite the challenge in and of itself. She admitted:
“It’s such a struggle being a single mother.”
We bet! Having two young kids while she’s still SO young herself must be hard! On the struggles of single motherhood, she added:
“Joan doesn’t go about it in the best way … but it is amazing to see her really fighting for her daughter. It’s also really important for kids to see just how hard parents work for them.”
Well if the last year has proved anything for Sophie, it’s that she’s certainly fought hard for her kiddos! At least she has the support of BF Peregrine Pearson!
Thoughts, Perezcious readers??
