Kathryn Calhoun Dennis is defending herself again, and she wants the world to know her side of the story.
The Southern Charm star has taken quite a bit of heat (and lots of bad press) over the past couple weeks after a heated social media exchange about the coronavirus pandemic and the question of whether Charleston-area businesses ought to be reopening right now. But amid unfortunate emoji choices and racism accusations, the reality TV star is now trying to have her voice heard… again.

On Sunday night, the 28-year-old mom and TV personality took to Instagram to pen a message to her fans and followers about the racism accusations against her. In the missive, the fiery redhead argued her spat with activist Mika Gadsden has been “blown out of proportion.” Dennis also took issue with “the way I’m being portrayed” over the fall-out after the exchange.
As you can see (below), she had quite a bit to say about her online spat, writing the following to her nearly one million followers:
“I’ve been quiet since all this started and told not to post anything but I can’t stand it any more. Y’all have to know that this whole thing has been blown out of context. I’m freakin heartbroken and SO depressed because the way I’m being portrayed is totally not true!!! I use that emoji all the time bc it looks silly and awkward and that’s my baseline. The account was anonymous I didn’t even know who I was messaging??? And now I’ve been labeled all this crazy stuff and it’s just not true. And it’s not fair.”
Wow. She went on from there, adding quite a bit more in her full message via Instagram, as you can see (below):

Well, now is “tomorrow,” so… when should we expect that statement exactly?! Things could be about to get very contentious down in the Deep South… well, even more so than they usually are for the Bravo show, at least.
