So, working at Starbucks is still awesome, but not quite as awesome as we thought!
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that the coffee company was teaming up with Arizona State University to pay part of their employee’s tuition, but that’s not actually the case.
Now Starbucks is calling the scholarship ├óΓé¼┼ôan investment,├óΓé¼┬¥ but students won├óΓé¼Γäót actually get any money from the company. Instead, they├óΓé¼Γäóll just attend college online at a discounted price, with federal aid making up much of the difference, since most employees don’t make very much money.
So, basically, Starbucks estimates that for freshmen and sophomores, the employees will end up paying around $1,000 a year. Juniors and Seniors are estimated to pay nothing out-of-pocket as long as they have 21 credits completed.
This is still fantastic, but more confusing than we originally thought. But everyone is still getting their college education paid for! Yay!
