Anne Hathaway And Other Stars Back Orangutan Charity Auction

Anne Hathaway is using her celebrity status to support the orangutans!
Along with a whole mess of other stars!
The Les Miz star has signed a page right out of the script from her movie Ella Enchanted, and is planning to donate it to the Sumatran Orangutan Society’s auction.
The Oxford charity is dedicated to the protection of orangutans!
Her cast member Joanna Lumley, who is also donating, had this to say:

“I really love orangutans and met many of these majestic animals when filming in Indonesia. The most thrilling thing in my life was looking into the eyes of a mother orangutan with a baby on her back: I knew her and she knew me… It is our duty to do all we can to save them and their way of life.”

We’re so glad Anne is using her fortune to enrich the lives of animals who desperately need it!
We guess that now that she’s got the Academy Award monkey off her back – she can attend to the needs of some actual monkeys!
