Howard Stern has decided to get back into films.
This time around, though, he’s sticking to producing.
The King of All Media is working on a remake the 1979 film Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.
The film centers around a group of students who get help from the rock band the Ramones to rebel against the school’s principal.
Sounds like an edgier High School Musical!
Alex Winter has been hired to write the script. He’s probably best remembered for his 1989 role as Bill in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Winter says, “I’ve now done so much stuff in music videos, and the Napster movie, that the chance to bridge music and comedy was something that intrigued me. This movie seemed so ripe for a remake.”
As for Stern, he’s also remaking the classic 1982 flick Porky’s.
That’s said to start production in the fall.
LOVE Porky’s!
