Oh boy! We have a feeling that lots of people are NOT going to like this!
According to a new evil study, attractive men and women have above average IQs.
The study also suggest that good-looking couples’ children will inherit their “intelligence genes.”
Here’s what lead researcher Satoshi Kanazawa had to say about the study:
“In the samples, physical attractiveness is significantly positively associated with general intelligence, both with and without controls for social class, body size and health. The association between physical attractiveness and general intelligence is also stronger among men than among women.”
“If more intelligent men are more likely to attain higher status, and if men of higher status are more likely to marry beautiful women, then, given intelligence and attractiveness are heritable, there should be a positive correlation between intelligence and physical attractiveness in the children.”
“It goes without saying that our contention that beautiful people are more intelligent is purely scientific. It is not a prescription for how to treat or judge others.”
Researchers worked with over 52,000 people in both the US and UK for this study. They were measured on intelligence, academic progress, and appearance.
We would take this one with a SERIOUS grain of salt…maybe even only half a grain!
Definitely an inneresting and frustrating concept. Guess we’ll see if we hear about any more studies on this subject.
