Susan Sarandon has been accused of being partly responsible for electing Donald Trump as president — and apparently she doesn’t regret it one bit!
Because while the actress isn’t particularly impressed with our new POTUS’ performance in Office, she still doesn’t think Trump was necessarily the greater of the two evils in the 2016 presidential election.

The 71-year-old admitted she hasn’t “exactly” said that Hillary Clinton was more dangerous in the long-run than Trump, but she does believe the former Democratic nominee would have the country at war had she won the election.
When asked by The Guardian if she really said that HRC was the more dangerous nominee, Sarandon clarified:
“Not exactly, but I don’t mind that quote. I did think she was very, very dangerous. We would still be fracking, we would be at war [if she was president]. It wouldn’t be much smoother. Look what happened under Obama that we didn’t notice.”
Huh. We don’t think Hillary would try to instigate Kim Jong-Un into launching a nuclear attack via Twitter name calling. But maybe we’re just biased?
Due to her vocal non-endorsement of Hillary, the actress — a Bernie Sanders supporter who voted for Jill Stein in the general election — says she continues to get flack from the left even while standing with them on select issues.

When Sarandon announced she stands with Dreamers earlier this year, she says she received backlash from leftist critics who blamed her for the very predicament she was speaking out against.
While she’s “flattered” her haters think she single-handedly gave Trump the presidency, the Feud star says that finger-pointing mentality is exactly why the DNC is in the shitter. She added:
“That’s why we’re going to lose again if we depend on the DNC [the Democratic National Committee], because the amount of denial. I mean it’s very flattering to think that I, on my own, cost the election. That my little voice was the deciding factor.”
So what was the deciding factor for Trump winning the election? Well, that’s what Sarandon says we need to start examining:
“People are really hurting; that’s how this guy got in. What we should be discussing is not the election, but how we got to the point where Trump was the answer├óΓé¼┬ª you can’t judge by the mainstream media what’s going on in the country. How did we lose all our journalists and media?”
She certainly raises a lot of interesting questions.
