Tara Reid and Ian Ziering have officially signed on to do Sharknado 2!!
Going into Super Bowl weekend with the BEST NEWS EVER is like a dream, a dream we don’t want to end!
This summer — July, specifically — is when NYC will have to brace itself for it’s worst problems in history… being plagued by storm-riding sharks in Sharknado 2: The Second One, the sequel to the social media phenomenon from last year.
We’re not sure how bad your luck has to be to get caught in a rare Sharknado even twice, but we can’t wait to see the reason behind Tara and Ian fighting the perfect predators again!
Here’s what SyFy’s executive Vice President had to say:
“Sharknado was an extraordinary ├óΓé¼╦£perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe. You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Sharknado! By reassembling the creative team├óΓé¼ΓÇ£and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites├óΓé¼ΓÇ£we’re unleashing yet another ├óΓé¼╦£fin’ wave of shark-mania.”
Hilariously, the company behind Sharknado (Asylum) added:
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring back the talent that made Sharknado a hit. Can lightning strike twice? I don’t know, but it’s a scientific fact that you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lightning and sharks, so that’s got to count for something.”
The original movie generated 5,000 tweets per minute at its peak — so we wonder if they can re-capture that magic!
We also hear the budget for this one is close to the $300 million mark — but don’t quote us on that, because we totally made it up just now.
