Taylor Swift's 1989 Is Officially Platinum & She Celebrated By -- Rapping To Kendrick Lamar??

Holy moly. Taylor Swift is having, like, the BEST week EVER and it’s not even over!
Not only does everyone love 1989, because obviously, but after its first week of sales, the album is OFFICIALLY platinum!
AKA she sold 1.287 million albums!!!
However, the fact that she sold THAT many copies isn’t even the most impressive thing about it all!

AH-Mazing fact number 1? 1989 is officially the biggest-selling album released in 2014! The only artist who came close (kind of) is Sam Smith‘s album In the Lonely Hour which sold 746,000 copies!
So, ya know, she shattered that record! But wait — there’s more!
This isn’t just Taylor’s first million selling album in a week, her last TWO debuts, Red and Speak Now BOTH sold over a million copies in their first weeks, so this is her THIRD time going platinum in a week!
Oh, and lastly, the 1.287 million copies sold is the largest sales week for an album since June of 2002 when Eminem sold 1.322 million.
So, clearly, gurlfriend has A LOT to celebrate — which is why she took to her Instagram to post an HIGHlarious video of her rapping to Kendrick Lamar!
