It’s time to break down some of the biggest rumors circulating the internet after it was announced Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn broke up!
According to a Page Six source on Monday, Taylor and Joe were never married — despite engagement rumors. Also, the pop star is NOT seeing anyone else at this time. She’s as single as a pringle!
If you didn’t know, ever since the Anti-Hero vocalist’s 2020 documentary Miss Americana hit Netflix, Swifties have been convinced she and the Conversations with Friends alum took things to the next level. Why? In one clip, it looked like she was wearing an engagement ring, but she never confirmed the speculation. In fact, the actor was once asked about the rumored proposal and he said he’d never reveal whether or not it happened. They valued their privacy that much!!

For her part, Taylor seemed to hit at engagement rumors in her music, such as on Lavender Haze, in which she sings:
“All they keep asking me / Is if I’m gonna be your bride / The only kinda girl they see/ Is a one night or a wife.”
She adds later in the song:
“I’m damned if I do give a damn what people say / No deal, the 1950s s**t they want from me.”
Makes it pretty clear the 33-year-old wasn’t too interested in settling down just yet! And insiders are backing this up. Per Page Six‘s source, this marriage rumor is “fully not true.” The couple never tied the knot nor had a ceremony of any kind.

This brings us to a DeuxMoi blind item that claimed the Grammy winner was seeing an “older” man already. When the breakup was announced, the gossip Instagram account shared a DM that read:
“It’s true! I have on good authority she’s seeing someone new. Older and a bit more lowkey.”
It’s hard to imagine Taylor moving on SO fast after such a serious relationship — and apparently, it’s hard for a reason because the confidant insisted this isn’t true either! The songwriter is “100% single.” She is said to be focusing on The Eras Tour while healing from this split, which again, “wasn’t dramatic.” The couple merely grew apart and began to realize their personalities didn’t mesh well for the long haul. Sad!
