Kylie Kelce is sick of talking about Taylor Swift… but what does that mean for their friendship? Are they even really friends??
It’s no secret that the ladies have been pitted against each other since the moment the pop star entered the picture. They’ve continually hit back at feud rumors and have seemed to be getting closer behind the scenes. But as the singer prepares to become Travis Kelce‘s wife very soon, it’s now being revealed that she’s not all that close with her future sister-in-law. Oof.

An insider told DailyMail.com on Thursday:
“They’re the same age but they just live such different lives.”
Sure, they’ve both linked up with NFL stars, but their daily lives could not be more different:
“Kylie is four babies in. All of [Taylor’s] friends are rich and famous and Kylie’s juggling mom duties, like, ‘I just need to go change a diaper.'”
A second source agreed, noting they’re in “different phases in life” — but the “love between them is legit.” So why aren’t they better friends by now?? Well, several sources blame it on them just being too different. The first insider dished:
“Kylie’s just not that warm so people think she’s standoffish. She’s very much like Donna Kelce. Taylor is nothing like Donna.”
Hmm. Taylor’s seemed to get along great with Donna, so is this really such a problem!?
But have no fear! The upcoming wedding is already strengthening their bond — even if the Not Gonna Lie podcast host wants fans to stop asking about it. A third confidant shared:
“Now that it’s official that [Travis and Swift] are getting married, they’re starting to [get closer].”
Well, that makes sense. A lot of families don’t like to get too attached until it’s the real deal. And as the wedding approaches, the songwriter has also been making a point to hang out with her beau’s family as much as she can, including why she “cooked [the Kelce family] Thanksgiving last year” as a way to really get included in the fam.
Things may have also been strained at first between the women due to Tay Tay’s high level of fame — something the entire Kelce family was NOT prepared for. Yes, Jason released an Amazon Prime Video doc at the time, but that level of attention was nothing compared to the spotlight the Swifties put them under, though Kylie has since embraced it. The third source explained:
“The exact same moment Travis and Taylor announce they were dating; Jason’s movie came out and Kylie looked really good in it, and that was sort of the beginning of a transformation.”
It seems like Kylie’s been enjoying her new career, but it’s not out of the question that she could have a more private life — if she wanted it. The third insider pointed out:
“People aren’t obsessed with Taylor’s brother. If you really want to be a normal person then be a normal person.”
It’s a good point! This situation is a little different, given that Jason was already famous, but Taylor can’t fully be blamed for this change in lifestyle. Kylie and Jason have totally leaned in! If they want to slip back into the shadows, they could.
We hope the sisters-in-law will only continue to get closer as they spend more time with each other. At least it doesn’t sound like they dislike each other!
