Taylor Swift has lost touch with her former bestie Jaime King, and now some new sources are sharing why!
Just last week, reports claimed the singer and Bulletproof Monk star are no longer speaking to each other. A source told The US Sun at the time that “there is still love” between them, but there “is no regular contact.” That said, Taylor would still do anything for her godson Leo, and makes sure to send him gifts for special occasions.

On Wednesday, a source told Page Six the friendship has “suffered because of the personal challenges” Jaime has “faced over the past few years.” Oof.
The White Chicks star and Anti-Hero artist “haven’t been in touch for a long time” and the actress “misses Taylor” and hopes they can “reconnect at some point,” the source shared:
“Jaime made Taylor her son’s godmother for a reason and she wants to continue that friendship.”
The performers became close after meeting at a 2014 Golden Globes party. Jaime’s now ex-husband Kyle Newman even directed Taylor’s Style music video in 2015.
Unfortunately, Jaime has really struggled over the years. After she filed for divorce from Kyle in 2020, she was granted a restraining order against him — but then he accused her of being a “chronic drug addict and alcoholic.” She’s once again facing issues after Kyle won sole physical custody of their two sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9, after Jaime failed to complete her court-ordered rehab program. The source opened up:
“She is going through a rough time right now. Between being forced to move out of her rental home because of the lawsuit involving her former landlord, and her ex getting sole physical custody of her boys, it’s all been very challenging.”
Jaime is currently “doing her best to stay positive and she is determined to gain physical custody back of her sons,” and her “first step is working towards unsupervised visits.” The model is also “so grateful she has a very supportive family” who “have agreed to step up and be involved in this custody situation because she couldn’t do it without them.” Many of her family members have been approved as supervisors for her visits with her kids.
It’s sad to hear that her personal issues tore a wedge between her and Taylor! Sadly, this is pretty common for lots of friendships. The good news is it doesn’t sound like they had a big feud or anything like that! Friends who drift apart can always come back together, right?
