We knew Tyler Baltierra had been living with bipolar disorder for a long time — we had no idea his battle once got this bad.
In a new Instagram post, the Teen Mom OG star shares a chapter from a “very dark time” in his life, in the form of a truly terrifying poem.

In the powerful piece, Tyler lyrically narrates his own suicide attempt at only 11 years old, using the rope from a tire swing as a noose. He writes:
“He grabs that rope as it starts to choke, he’s gasping for air, now he’s losing hope, he’s struggling to breathe, he’s stretching his feet to reach the dirt & scrambling because his young naive brain just didn’t believe how much this would hurt.”
Thankfully, Tyler realized he didn’t want to die and fought with everything to free himself.

I wasn’t going to post this poem…but I know that I’m not the only one who went through mental health struggles & I know that someone can relate to this experience, which is why I decided to vulnerably share this with you guys.
