OMG! Teresa Giudice was just confronted about her legal trouble on live TV — causing her to abruptly shut down the interview!
On Friday, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star was on Chicago’s WGN Morning News via video chat to promote an upcoming live show at Zanies Comedy Night Club next week in the state. The chat got off to a rocky start when the hosts aired a montage of some of the reality star’s messiest TV moments, including lots of heated spats with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. The journalists even mentioned her prison time! So, Teresa was clearly on edge when the reporters went in for the blow!

At one point in the interview, co-anchor Larry Potash referenced Teresa’s legal trouble, wondering why a “family doesn’t pay their taxes for years.” Damn! Teresa tried to play it off, saying with a confused expression:
“What family are you talking about?”
Larry didn’t bother to try to smooth things over — he went for the kill by clarifying he was referencing her “family” and her “fraud charges”! Instantly annoyed, Teresa immediately began to shut down her Zoom, saying:
“Okay, I’m hanging up. Let’s just hang up. That’s it.”
And poof, she was gone! Watch (below):

Reposting a clip to his X (Twitter) page, Larry joked:
“In the words of one of our viewers, she evaded that question like …taxes”
Not backing down! If you don’t know, in March, court documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed Teresa and her husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas are currently facing approximately $3 MILLION in tax liens! Yikes!!! Per the IRS, the government issues tax liens against someone’s property when they fail to pay a tax debt.
This comes after Teresa and her first husband Joe Giudice both pleaded guilty to 41 counts of fraud in 2014. She went on to serve 11 months in prison while Joe served 41 months in prison and was then deported back to Italy in 2019. He’s not allowed to return to the States. It was a big freaking deal, so the fact she’s yet again facing similar tax problems is wild!
As you can tell, the Bravo star has stayed very tight-lipped about this — but her daughter, Gia, reassured her Casual Chaos podcast listeners in late March that everything would be okay, saying:
“We have had a lot of positive moments this week and some negative moments. I’m sure you all have seen the news. My mom has been the sole provider for my sisters and I since the minute my father [Joe] left for prison. She has been working her ass off to make sure that my sisters and I live a stable life and that my family is financially stable. Like, I can’t stress enough how much my mom has worked. Everything will be resolved.”
We hope so! We can understand Teresa not wanting to deal with getting blindsided on TV — but hopefully, she’s not running away from her alleged problems IRL, too!
