This is so touching!
A Texas couple took to social media this week to share a touching note they received from someone in their neighborhood.
With an adorable doodle and a child’s handwriting, the message is a big thank you to the couple — for giving the sender the courage to come out as gay to their family!

Sal Stow of Round Rock, Texas shared the handwritten note — which appears to have been written by a young person — to Facebook on June 19:
Those are pansexual and transgender pride flags, btw.
Stow wrote in her social media post about the conservative area which she and her partner Meghan Stabler live:
“I just went out to collect 2 packages from the doorstep (at my partner Meghan’s house, that I call home) only to find this note under a rock on the mat. This is why visibility is SO important. You never know who needs the support and to know it’s ok. I hope this person is ok, their family is being supportive and they find a community to connect with that can help them through this brave process. Williamson County is extremely conservative and in fact the County Commissioners voted 4-0 to not allow the pride flag to be flown on the Round Rock county court buildings. I am proud of who I am and the person I love. I will continue to be visible in whatever way I can”
Stow, who serves as co-chair of the Human Rights Campaign‘s steering committee in Houston, spoke to Good Morning America about her discovery, saying:
“Knowing our visibility [and] the impact it had on one person, it means so much. We live in a very conservative area. So when I read the note I was thankful that through our visibility, we had empowered a young person to be comfortable within themselves.”
She revealed she “almost burst into tears” when she read the note.
Stow has an idea of who the author is, but she intends to protect their privacy. However, she couldn’t NOT share the wonderful message:
“It blows my mind that it had this much of a ripple effect, especially in the climate we’re living in. It makes my heart full seeing the impact it’s having.”
