The American Kennel Club (AKC) has recently welcomed the Treeing Walker Coonhound into its registry as the 174th breed.
The Treeing Walker Coonhound looks like a beagle on stilts.
Its name comes from the fact that it’s a “hound,” that loves to go after small prey, such as raccoons (“coon”), and then chase them up a “tree.”
And the “walker” part we guess is because it walks around or something.
They are friendly and energetic dogs who love people, playing in nature and lounging around the house.
To see other types of cutie Coonhounds, the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will be shown on ABC on February 4.
Congrats to the Treeing Walker Coonhound on finally being recognized by the AKC!
You go Treeing Walker Coonhound!
What a mouthful. LOLz!
