Another chapter has unfolded for former Bachelorette contestant and country singer James McCoy Taylor, and it’s a troubling one.
According to newly surfaced court records published by TMZ on Monday, Taylor was arrested back on Friday of last week on a warrant tied to a 2024 case involving allegations of assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint.
He was reportedly taken into custody in connection with that warrant out of Texas (mugshot above), though he was released the very same day after posting a $10,000 bond, the news outlet reports. Still, the circumstances surrounding this arrest raise difficult questions that can’t be ignored.

So, basically, the original case from back in 2024 stems from an incident involving a college student who was 19 years old at the time. Police alleged back then that Taylor groped the young woman, forcibly kissed her, and then threw her to the ground as she attempted to leave an apartment. The accusations were deeply unsettling then, and they remain so now.
In 2025, Taylor pleaded guilty to the charges. His sentence included a requirement to serve 80 hours of community service, pay certain financial penalties, and attend mandatory anger management classes, along with a strict no-contact order with the victim. He was also banned from a popular entertainment district in Texas. It seemed, at least on paper, like a case that had reached some form of resolution.
But now, it appears that resolution may not have held. TMZ‘s new report claims that Taylor allegedly failed to complete or keep up with certain court-ordered obligations — apparently the fine payments, specifically — leading to a warrant being issued earlier this year and ultimately carried out this week, hence his arrest.
Yikes…
For fans who remember him from reality TV, this is a difficult evolution.
FYI, Taylor is currently living in Colorado with his partner Kenzie Linden and their blended family. But beyond that, there are still many unanswered questions about what comes next. In the meantime, what is clear is that this situation continues to unfold in a way that impacts more than just headlines.
