Unless you live under a rock, it’s no surprise to hear that The Dark Knight Rises is going to be a blockbuster. Like a big, BIG blockbuster.
In fact, it’s going to make so much money at the box office that it is the only 2012 release that has a chance of beating any of the records set by The Avengers.
The final installment of Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy is expected to make over $150 million during its opening weekend in July, which is what Marvel’s movie was expected to rake in before it ACTUALLY made $207.4 million!
When The Dark Knight made $158.4 million way back in 2008, people attributed the high gross to Heath Ledger‘s death. Now there’s no controversy to propel people to the theater, but we have a feeling this box office juggernaut won’t need it.
After seeing the first two amazing movies in the franchise, why wouldn’t people flock to the theater to see what promises to be an epic conclusion?
We’d gamble our entire life savings on this movie making well over $150 million during its domestic opening weekend. However, we’re not sure if Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy will be enough star power to conquer the example set by The Avengers crew.
Do U think DC has a chance at beating Marvel at the box office this summer?
