Since the continued success of live musical events such as The Wiz Live! or Grease: Live, television networks are all about finding new stories to explore.
That’s why Fox brought us The Passion Sunday night — a contemporary retelling of the Passion of Jesus Christ story, just with more popular music.

The two-hour live show was narrated by Tyler Perry and starred Jencarlos Canela as Jesus, Trisha Yearwood as Mary, Chris Daughtry as Judas, Prince Royce as Peter, and Seal in his acting debut as Pontius Pilate.
With the show being both musical and faith based, several people took to Twitter to share their reactions to the best of the best moments (below):

The fact that #ThePassionLive is on tv is proof so many people are searching for something more meaningful than what they have now. So cool!

Whether you like #ThePassionLive or not, it’s opening up a dialogue about Christianity and why it’s okay to be a proud Christian.
