Taylor Hicks Seems Shady About Chris Daughtry's New Judging Gig On American Idol

Taylor Hicks seems just a tad bitter that he wasn’t asked to be a judge on the American Idol reboot, especially since fellow AI alum Chris Daughtry was given a spot alongside Katy Perry.

The Season 5 winner appeared on the Domenick Nati show Tuesday, sounding less than enthused about Daughtry’s new role, as he said:

“I think a winner should be [a judge], personally. Because, what you go through to win the show is a lot different than what you go through when you’re third or fourth, you know, or fifth. Or tenth. If they were going to have a judge that’s from the show, if they’re going to have someone from the show who was actually a contestant, I would feel like a winner would be the best suited.”

Mmhmm. Tell us more, Tay.
The 40-year-old also said he’d be interested in a judging role but that the show should’ve waited a few more months before its return.
As for whether he’s been approached for a judging gig? He said:

“I’m just gonna be tight-lipped about everything. I’m not confirming or denying it.”

Guess we’ll just wait and see!
