Ed Sheeran isn’t perfect, and he’s okay with that!
The usually super-private singer recently opened up about his head-scratching decision to go completely off the grid last year, and revealed what he gained in return.

The 27-year-old told People exclusively:
“I ended the tour and I [realized] I hadn’t ever really lived a life. It’s quite weird being a touring ‘celebrity.’ People assume you’re living the best f***ing life in the world, but you don’t really get to live any life because you work the whole time.”
He candidly continues:
“I was like ‘F**k, I’m 25, I left school early and went straight into touring. I haven’t properly formed relationships with people so I needed to have a year off and spend it with friends and family and [my now-fiancée] Cherry [Seaborn] and actually become a human being.”
And in that year off, the rumored-already-married couple took their love around around the world. Getting to know each other through vacationing in Fiji, road-tripping through Australia, and celebrating the Fourth of July stateside.
The Perfect singer says quality time away from the public eye was something he and his lady both wanted:
“Cherry went to university and then she went to do her Masters at Duke in North Carolina, and went straight into working on Wall Street in New York. She hadn’t really done anything either, so it was an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and live life a little bit.”
Well, it was all worth it!
Sheeran has since promised fans that he’s working on his third studio album, and has definitely warmed up to the idea of being more open, proven by his latest documentary film out now titled, Songwriter.
