The Rolling Stones are postponing their North American tour due to an unspecified medical condition affecting Mick Jagger.
The announcement, which came down in a press release on Saturday morning, did not specify what was going on with Jagger, who will turn 76 in July, but the way the news is written, it sounds like this will be a relatively minor, temporary postponement.

In the official statement announcing the tour postponement, the Stones noted that doctors are working hard to ensure Jagger’s complete recovery, adding (below):
“Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”
A rep for the band wouldn’t comment on what specifically was wrong with Jagger.
Jagger himself added a sentence to the statement, as well (below):
“I hate letting our fans down and I’m hugely disappointed to have to postpone the tour but am looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as I can.”
So unfortunate!

And in another public moment, the septuagenarian rocker himself also made an announcement on his Instagram page earlier on Saturday morning, apologizing again to fans for having to postpone tour dates across North America and writing more (below):
“I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”
Here’s the IG post itself, taken from Jagger’s official account (below):
Here’s to a quick recovery!
In total, the postponements cover 17 concert dates that span from an April 20 opener in Miami, Florida, to their July 29 show up in Canada. Postponed shows include two concerts in New Jersey, two at Soldier Field in Chicago, and other major stadium gigs in Denver, Washington D.C., Seattle, Philly, and the Boston area, among others.
For fans who had been planning to go to any of these shows: HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKETS! Tour promoters say they will be valid at the rescheduled shows.
