With the Tony Awards coming up next month, the hunt was on for the right host. Although many insiders were hoping it’d be funnyman Will Ferrell, reports were that the heads of the show were after former Sopranos star James Gandolfini to host.
Thankfully, that shiteous idea didn’t happen and we now know who will host the 63rd Annual Tony Awards this coming June 7th.
The honor goes to Neil Patrick Harris!
Yay!
He better be doing some singing and dancing!
As for being chosen, Neil says “The discipline of live theatre – doing the same perfect thing night after night, eight times a week – never ceases to amaze me. I’m truly honored to have been chosen as the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s Tony Awards, and I hope to help provide a first-class evening for all.”
Co-Executive producer Ricky Kirshner added that “His love for Broadway and great knowledge of theatre combined with his on-stage presence makes him the perfect person to guide us through what is sure to be a great night.”
Hopefully there won’t be any fire stunts in the show, especially after last month’s incident.
