
The Weeknd can’t feel his dignity when he’s with H&M.
In case you missed the controversy over the past few hours, the Swedish clothing manufacturer got into some hot water over their choice to model a new children’s “Monkey” hoodie with their only black model.

The historical context was not lost on many critics, who called out H&M as being “casually” racist.
The Weeknd was among those “offended” — he tweeted:

Abel previously collaborated with the company on two clothing collections and performed at last year’s Spring fashion show.
H&M already apologized and removed the photo from their site, but losing such a high-profile collaborator over the tone-deaf ad proves that’s just not enough.
