They Got Shia's Back (And Hand)

Shia LaBeouf‘s getting a little help from his big-wig friends!

One of the guys who co-wrote Transformers 2, Roberto Orci, reveals that Shia’s hand injury has become part of the movie out of concern for the actor’s safety as the production continues:

“Shia just got back to the set last week. We incorporated his injury into it. Not because it was absolutely necessary, but [director] Michael [Bay] in particular wanted to be able to protect him on the set. He’s still going to be running around in this movie. [Bay] literally just wanted, for [LaBeouf’s] safety, … to make sure that we weren’t playing around with his injury. … That’s why we put it in.”

It better not suck!
