Coming in at #2 is the Clint Eastwood drama, Gran Torino. It’s MLK weekend payday is expected to total $26 million.
And, rounding out the top three is another newcomer, the Diddy executive-produced flick, Notorious. The biopic about rap legend Biggie Smalls will take home about $24 million by the end of the holiday weekend.
It was a good weekend for Hollywood.
According to preliminary analysis, TOTAL box office earnings are up 28% over last year’s Martin Luther King weekend.
In these crap economic times it’s nice to see someone making money!
