Rising TikTok Star Killed In Shooting -- Just 17 Years Old

A rising social media star has tragically been killed as a result of a mall shooting in Los Angeles.

On January 18, per CBS, California police responded to reports of a shooting at Los Cerritos Center shopping mall around 7:30 p.m. They discovered an unconscious woman in a car there and she was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Further reports revealed the young woman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest which ended up taking her life. So horrific.

Monday, People were able to confirm the identity of the victim as 17-year-old Nahsiyah Turner, who was a rising star on TikTok. The teen, known to her fans as Siyah, posted lifestyle and dancing content, and at the time of her death boasted over 220,000 followers on the platform. See her videos HERE.

It’s unclear what happened and the incident is still under investigation, but police are treating it as a homicide. We hope they’re able to get some answers soon.

In the days since Siyah’s passing was announced, fans have taken to her social media to leave messages for her. Underneath her last Instagram post, heartbroken followers wrote:

“RIP you were so beautiful I’m so sorry this happened to you”

“I can’t believe this. Rest easy pretty girl.”

“praying for all her family & friends

“Baby we are so sorry. You don’t deserve this”

“She was about to graduate this breaks my heart”

“This is so unreal she was my inspiration rest in peace Siyah you had such a beautiful soul”

Some fans even held a candlelit memorial service for the young girl and organized a balloon release. Such a senseless tragedy. Our heart goes out to Siyah’s family and loved ones.
