Tim Burton is the undisputed king of whimsical weirdness — and his latest film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children looks to be no exception!
Based on Ransom Riggs‘ novel, the upcoming fantasy tale stars Asa Butterfield as Jake, a teenager who tries to get over a family tragedy by embarking on a journey to find a fabled orphanage where his late grandfather said he once lived.
As it turns out, the orphanage turns out to be a mystical gateway to an alternate realm where children with bizarre powers are protected by a magical guardian — played by the wickedly stunning Eva Green!

Burton refers to the Penny Dreadful star’s shape-shifting character as a “scary Mary Poppins” — and based on the first visuals, we can totally see what he means!
During his stay, Jake finds a budding romance with an alluring “peculiar” Emma (Ella Purnell), who has the power to levitate — and had a special bond with Jake’s grandfather.

But that’s not all — audiences can expect plenty more “weird kids” to be in this peculiar family unit.
Other residents of the orphanage include Olive (Lauren McCrostie), Bronwyn (Pixie Davies), Millard (Cameron King), and a pair of creepy twins (Thomas and Joseph Odwell).

Wow! The visuals for this look stunning! And SO Tim Burton!
