Tom Cruise Makes Peace With Matt Lauer

Tom Cruise wants us to know he has a sense of humor, y’all!

On Friday, the former A-lister was one of the many celebs and newsy types who roasted Today show anchor Matt Lauer at the Friar’s Club in New York.

Looks like he wants us to see that he’s over the screwing he got in the media back in ’05 after calling Lauer ‘glib’ in an interview!

Tom started his shtick by blaming Matt for his infamous Oprah appearance:
“Matt gave me some advice: ‘When people come on my show, I don’t want them talking about their dopey movie. Tom, don’t be glib. You are in love. Talk about (Katie). People will love you for it.’”

And then Cruise closed by saying, “Lose my number you glib putz.”

Lauer reportedly embraced Tommy after his roast and asked, “Hey, can you stay? Can someone find Tom a booster seat.”

Ba-dum-bum.

We bet he couldn’t wait to use that one!

The master of ceremonies, Today show weather man Al Roker, also got into it.

He said Cruise couldn’t stay because his spaceship was waiting outside.

Duh!

Tom supposedly wrote his own material and delivered the roast note-free.

He’s an actor. He’s expected to memorize lines!!!

But, kudos to him for not being such a prick anymore!
