We totally agree with this!!
Tony Hawk is on a warpath to get skateboarding to be recognized as an official Olympic sport — and we say, if snowboarding is allowed, why isn’t skateboarding??
Tony was asked about wrestling getting the Olympic boot, here’s what he had to say:
“Well to be honest, at this point the summer Olympics needs skateboarding more than skateboarding needs them. They need the excitement [the Winter Games has] with snowboarding. I think if the IOC gets a clue they’re gonna put skateboarding in.”
BOOM!
The Summer Olympics are apparently desperate for younger viewers, and what better way to remedy that than with skateboarding??
With the newly opened spot in the games, it’s no wonder that there are other sports that want in on it, including: baseball/softball, karate, squash, wakeboarding and wushu.
They need to decide by September!
Our question is: why not let a lot of these sports in? Not everything has to be televised!
