Tracy Morgan Returns To Stand-Up After Controversy

Tracy Morgan has really made an effort to make amends with the gay community after he made some pretty hateful and controversial homophobic statements at a comedy show in Nashville earlier this month.

Well, it’s been a few weeks and Tracy returned to the comedy scene by performing a new stand-up routine at Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York Saturday night.

During his set, Tracy addressed the controversy, saying:

“You’re all sitting here waiting for me say something about the controversy, right? I’m 42, man, and now all of a sudden I’m homophobic?

I don’t have that in me. I believe gay, straight, anybody, everybody’s supposed to be happy in this world, man.”

That’s awesome and we agree with him, but then Tracy just couldn’t help himself…

The rest of his stand-up remained somewhat tame, until he told the audience that he had something on his mind, but he couldn’t share it with the audience. Before thanking the audience for coming to his show despite his recent “trouble,” he said:

“I can’t. I just got out of controversy, man. This is diabolical.

Don’t ever mess with women who have retarded kids. Them young retarded males is strong. They’re strong like chimps.”

He even made a jab about his alleged teenage relationship with a girl he called a “cripple.”

Yikes.

We get the need to push the envelope in comedy, but when does it cross the line to becoming hurtful and offensive?

We know Tracy can be a funny guy, but he might want to lay off the “controversial” topics.
