Transgender Teen Nominated For Homecoming Queen!

A transgender teen is going where no transgender teen has ever gone before! At least no one has gone there before at her school!

Cassidy Lynn Campbell was born as a boy, but has identified herself as a female these past three years. Recently, Cassidy was nominated as a top 10 finalist for homecoming queen at her high school at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California.

Cassidy hopes her nomination will bring some light on the transgenderism movement!

Here’s what Cassidy said:

“Gay people have been brought into the limelight and it’s a very touched-on subject. It’s much more talked about than transgender is.”

Although Cassidy has faced cyber bullying and face-to-face bullying in school – she doesn’t mind it as long as her point is made!

Cassidy’s mom would normally be worried for her teenager, but finds solace in the fact that many other people have walked the line that Cassidy is walking right now.

Here’s what Cassidy’s mom said:

├óΓé¼┼ôI├óΓé¼Γäóm so glad that so many people have walked this path before her and have laid the groundwork.”

We’ll definitely be rooting for Cassidy to win the homecoming queen crown!
