Travis Kelce doesn’t seem to mind if his girlfriend can’t make it to all his football games…
Well, at least he didn’t mind back in 2016!!
An 8-year-old clip is currently circulating around social media in which the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared his thoughts on what he envisioned in a girlfriend at the time. And it’s become all the more relevant amid Taylor Swift’s recent absences from his games! He says in the clip:
“If you’re dating a professional athlete I do not believe, at least for me, that you need to go to all the games. I mean, there’s eight home games, eight away games, plus playoffs. I don’t even expect my parents and my friends to make every single game.”
What a seriously mature outlook he had! Especially considering this was eight years ago. So, he was just 26 at the time! And knew back then that whomever he started dating is entitled to a life beyond his football career!

Hilariously, he also added that any girls looking to strike up a romance should be ready to be thrust into the spotlight alongside him… Which is funny given that he was the one who really ended up being thrust into the spotlight after going public with the much-more famous Taylor! Ha!

As we noted, this comes amid the You Belong With Me singer’s absence from Travis’ last two games. And while one report points out that it may be for a sad reason, we can all take comfort in the fact that the NFL star likely isn’t taking it personally!
