Donald Trump‘s administration has “abruptly” cut $11 MILLION in funding for a Catholic charity amid his ongoing feud with Pope Leo XIV!
According to a new report by The Miami Herald, the US government’s $11 million contract with the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, which “operates several temporary and/or permanent housing sites” for homeless and migrant children entering the States, according to its site, has reportedly been AXED.
Per the report, the Department of Health and Human Services’ subsidiary, the Office of Refugee Resettlement, has supported the Catholic charity for decades. But in late March, the Archdiocese of Miami was contacted by the government about the cancellation. This was around the same time things started heating up between Trump and The Pope. And it’s only gotten worse since!

The HHS addressed the report in a statement to Newsweek on Thursday, claiming their rationale was due to a declining number of daily unaccompanied migrant children in ORR care. What was reportedly 22,000 children when Joe Biden was president has now diminished to 1,900. Press secretary Emily G. Hillard said:
“ORR is closing and consolidating unused facilities as the Trump Administration continues efforts to stop illegal entry and the smuggling and trafficking of unaccompanied alien children.”
Uhhh, and let’s not forget Trump’s extreme and even deadly deportation measures… This is literally an agency focused on helping vulnerable CHILDREN. And now that Trump is all butthurt over the Pope’s condemnation of the US’ war with Iran, he’s lashing out in ways that affect innocents!
Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski, who recently defended the Pope by saying he “he doesn’t have to please anybody except the Lord,” told The Miami Herald:
“The US government has abruptly decided to end more than 60 years of relationship with Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Miami. The Archdiocese of Miami’s services for unaccompanied minors have been recognized for their excellence and have served as a model for other agencies throughout the country.”
He added:
“Our track record in serving this vulnerable population is unmatched. Yet, the Archdiocese of Miami’s Catholic Charities’ services for unaccompanied minors has been stripped of funding and will be forced to shut down within three months.”
What a rug pull!
The Miami Archbishop went on to acknowledge the diminishing number of unaccompanied migrant minors in the US and conceded “some programs may be scaled back,” but argued “it is baffling that the U.S. government would shut down a program that it would be hard-pressed to replicate at the level of competence.”
