Finally, some closure in the Tyler Clementi case.
The jury for the hate crime trial, which began on February 21, convicted roommate Dharun Ravi GUILTY of invasion of privacy AND on the most serious charge, bias intimidation.
Dharun’s attorneys agreed that he acted in an immature manner, but stood by their client, stating:
“He hasn’t lived long enough to have any experience with homosexuality or gays. He doesn’t know anything about it. He just graduated high school.”
That is ABSOLUTELY no excuse!!!!
As we hope you haven’t forgotten, Ravi, Clementi’s roommate at Rutgers University at the time, used a webcam to spy on Tyler while being intimate with another man.
After finding out he’d been filmed, the gay teen TRAGICALLY jumped off the George Washington bridge to his death in September 2010.
We hope this guilty verdict brings as much peace and closure to the Clementi family as it can.
If you are being bullied, PLEASE remember that it DOES get better!!!!
LOVE is LOUDER!
