This is such horrible news to report — she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay‘s 15-year-old daughter Trinity was pronounced dead in Lexington, Kentucky this morning after being caught in the crossfire between two unidentified groups of people.

Trinity, a high school student and sprinter herself, was not involved with either group, and was simply in the worst place at the worst time as two cars of people got into an altercation and began firing at each other.
An innocent bystander, Trinity was shot in the neck. Very quickly she was taken to a nearby hospital, but within an hour she was pronounced dead.
Tyson, an extremely well-known American sprinter, is reportedly flying to Kentucky this afternoon. He told the media:

“She didn’t make it. She was just here last week for fall break … I have no idea what happened.”

So unbelievably sad.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and loved ones.
R.I.P.
