Uganda Holds Off On "Kill The Gays" Bill

This whole situation hurts every piece of our hearts. We can’t believe that a bill like this could even be proposed in the world today.
Uganda backtracked on a disparaging bill proposed that would, in effect, punish homosexual citizens even more brutally than previous laws already established. Thankfully, the bill was deemed redundant by the President’s administration, and thus it was shelved. However, there are many still in the country’s government who feel fervently that the bill should be passed as they insist that the bill would act as a more ├óΓé¼┼ôspecific and clear├óΓé¼┬¥ law, with more “befitting” penalties like execution for ├óΓé¼┼ôaggravated homosexuality.├óΓé¼┬¥
There are no words. This is beyond disheartening, beyond immoral. It is the very definition of intolerable.
We wish our government should a bit more interest in this issue and took a proud stance against these sort of practices. It’s the least we can do to give a voice to those in the country who are forced to live in a constant state of fear.
Our thoughts go out to all those who are suffering because of this injustice.
