Back in February, sources announced that Uma Thurman was slated to play Nanny in the big-screen adaptation of the classic children’s books, Eloise.
However, something happened over at Handmade productions that brought the movie to a stand still for the last three months. No rehearsals. No filming. Nothing. And Uma is not happy about that!
Miz Thurman lawyered up and went after Handmade, suing them for not paying her pay-or-play fee worth millions, and also for lost earnings she could have gotten, but didn’t because she was waiting for this damn movie to start.
In the end, she won the day and $10 million from the company. The movie is still slated to go up soon, but at this point, it is unclear whether Uma will still play Nanny or if she will take on a producer role instead.
Unless you are really invested in this character, we say just take the producer credit and run. Who knows when those people are going to get this movie off the ground! Can’t wait around forever!
