Is damage control underway after Justin Bieber and Usher’s reported blowout?
Over the weekend, reports surfaced claiming the Somebody to Love collaborators got into a “heated exchange” at Beyoncé’s Oscars party. One source told TMZ the alleged altercation was all words, while another claimed it eventually crescendoed in fists being swung.
An insider later told DailyMail.com J.B. and Usher’s confrontation stemmed from tense feelings about their long history. As fans know, Usher was part of Justin’s career from the earliest of days… and felt brushed off by the 32-year-old at the party:
“From his perspective, there’s a level of loyalty and gratitude that hasn’t been reciprocated, and the distance between them has come off as dismissive and disrespectful. Usher, who played a key role in helping Justin get his start, feels that history matters.”
For Justin’s part, though, the insider claimed he doesn’t believe Usher protected him in his early career. But is the extent of their Oscars party confrontation being blown out of proportion?

During a new episode of The Ricky Smiley Show, Usher’s friend Da Brat weighed in on the reported “heated exchange,” calling them “exaggerated.”
“I spoke to Usher, and he said, ‘This is an exaggeration of the conversation.’ He’s been nothing but supportive of plenty of issues that Justin Bieber has had throughout the years and y’all can actually check the records for all that, he has been.”
She continued:
“Justin is on his own journey, dealing with his own reality that he’s created. Usher wishes him nothing but the best, and they have no hostility towards each other.”
Right! That totally doesn’t sound like a bit of PR damage control! Ha!
Da Brat further claimed the two singers “definitely love each other.”
“People just take stuff out of context when they see something and they run with it, and I’m just here to say that is not the issue. They are definitely cool with each other, and they have love and they support each other.”

We would certainly love to believe that, but the level of tension has undeniably grown between them ever since all the Diddy allegations began popping up. The two don’t even follow each other on social media anymore!
