Shooting your shot on Instagram doesn’t always end in failure, it seems! At least not for Valerie Bertinelli‘s new boyfriend!
In a new cover story with People, the 63-year-old actress opened up about her love life. Even just having a love life at this point came as a shock to her, she revealed! In the interview, which dropped on Monday, she said:
“I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again. I was supposed to die with my six cats and my dog and very happily live the rest of my years alone — I’m good alone. My belly is flip-flopping. This was not supposed to happen.”
Aww!

After her divorce from Tom Vitale in 2022 and the death of her past ex hubby Eddie Van Halen in 2020, the One Day at a Time star put love on the back burner and decided to put herself first. But as they always say, love comes when you least expect it. And it seems like that’s exactly what happened with her new mystery man! She explained:
“It was strictly platonic but there was something about him that I connected with that felt familiar.”
The Hot in Cleveland alum isn’t ready to reveal her beau’s identity just yet, but she did say he’s a writer from the East Coast. She also revealed that she met him on Instagram, and they were friends for years before things progressed into romance. Wow! She noted:
“It’s crazy the comfort level, it feels incredibly right. I found joy first, and then a man entered my life.”
