We don’t know how Valerie Harper is staying so strong, but whatever she’s doing is certainly honorable!
Last week, the Rhoda and The Mary Tyler Moore Show icon announced that she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and only had three months to live, and while she’s been living her life to the fullest despite her condition, she now wants everyone to know that her illness is NOT bringing her down.
Miz Harper appeared on Good Morning America to tell us not to go to “the funeral until the day of the funeral,” and to “live this day.”
Valerie also noted that she’s “feeling good,” and wants to talk about her disease because “we are all terminal,” she added:
“We have a lot of fear around death and I thought maybe I can help somebody. Tony and I decided we would do this because I want people to be less scared. I want them to know the new realm of cancer, that you can die with cancer but not of it.├óΓé¼┬¥
And while she’s busy trying to keep everyone calm, the 73-year-old actress is even considering picking up new jobs and is also promoting her recently released memoir, I Rhoda.
She said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI├óΓé¼Γäóm going to the movies with my husband. I├óΓé¼Γäóm living very normally thanks to some stabilizing [medication], two pills only, morning and night. People have been offering me jobs. I think I can do them. I mean, right now, so far, if they were willing to take the chance.”
She even thanked everyone for being so supportive and acknowledged that when she first had cancer her husband was AH-MAYZING, and wished that everyone had health insurance because she’s grateful for being able to extend her life.
We’re blown away by how positive Harper is, and we hope that she continues to live her life just like this!
