NBC couldn’t bring The Rockford Files back from the dead, so Universal will try instead!
Universal Pictures has inked a deal to bring the 70s show to the silver screen, with Vince Vaughn attached as the star and David Levien and Brian Koppelman writing the script.
The show originally ran on NBC, who had plans on reviving the Files before they abandoned ship last year.
John Rockford, Vaughn’s character, is a laid back, charming private eye, bit more rugged and unkempt than the classic detective, and was originally portrayed by James Garner.
We think Vince will be just fine with this role!
