Weeks after Preston Ordone’s tragic passing at just 2 years old, the coroner’s office has officially determined his cause of death.
On April 24, Katelynn Ordone and husband Jaelan Ordone were driving in their 2011 Ford F-150 with their 2-year-old son Preston. You’d know him better as the viral “Okay Baby” from TikTok. Sadly, their vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree, injuring both parents and sadly killing little Preston. Now less than three weeks later, his official death ruling has come in.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, Preston died of “blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash.” The manner of death was listed as accidental. That last part is really important — a lot of fingers were being pointed immediately following the accident.
At the time of Preston’s death, the Louisiana State Police claimed he wasn’t securely fastened in his carseat. However, Katelynn’s father Glen Norris denied such claims. After that, Katelynn spoke briefly about the incident after being discharged from the hospital:
“I think we all are trying … none of us really understand why or how this could happen, but y’all’s support has made a big difference in a lot of this. And I may not be able to watch everything, I may not be able to reply to every comment, because it’s really hard for me to look at it,” she said via Instagram, becoming visibly emotional. “But I’m still seeing some things in here, how much you’ll love them, and it means a lot.”
Such a heartbreaking situation all around.

On Sunday, she took to TikTok to reflect on her first Mother’s Day without him. Watch (below):
