We were pretty bummed to hear that Jason Segel wouldn’t be returning to The Muppets sequel in any capacity, but that doesn’t mean his brother won’t!
Screenwriter Nicholas Stoller has confirmed that Walter, the newest muppet introduced in the last movie, isn’t going anywhere and will be “heavily involved in the story.”
Yayyy!
But much like most of the Muppet movies, Kermit will be the focus, as Stoller explained:
“He is not making a cameo. He is heavily involved in the story. … It’s in the early stages, so everything could change, but right now it’s a Kermit-centric story, as a lot of the original movies were.”
In another interview, Stoller spilled more precious deets about the highly anticipated sequel in the rejuvenated franchise. Much like The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets 2 is going to be a comedy caper AND there will be more new Muppet characters introduced!
We’re already pumped for another Muppet adventure with Kermit, Walter, and the rest of the gang. What about U?
