As we’ve mentioned previously, last month, Fox successfully put a halt to Warner Bros’. March release of the comic book adaptation Watchmen.
A judge agreed that some of Fox’s claims to the film’s rights needed to be sorted out before Warner Bros. was allowed to go out and make money off of it.
Court proceedings were scheduled to kick off on January 20th.
Well, Warner Bros. has just filed a petition asking that the hearing be moved up to as early as Monday. They reportedly argued “time is critical” — the studio must soon commit tens of millions of dollars in marketing for a film it isn’t sure it can release.
The matter of an earlier start date will supposedly be determined on Friday.
