Wendy Williams is making shocking allegations about her only son!
In a new documentary, TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy, which dropped on Tubi Wednesday, got choked up as she claimed to Harvey Levin through a window at an assisted living facility that Kevin Hunter Jr. has been “stealing” money from her for years! What?!

She claimed:
“My son overstepped his boundaries, in terms of me. He overstepped his boundaries, and he was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it, like, is he stealing from me?”
It may go way beyond just taking her own hard-earned cash without permission! Wendy seemingly suggested that Kevin is the reason she has been under such a strict guardianship, too! She said:
“All I know is that in terms of what I’m dealing with, and that’s still going on, because, that’s when my money got frozen with Wells Fargo. And thank God no more money-stealing from my son and the other people.”
According to Wendy, Kevin took her phone when she stayed with him in Miami in 2022 — while she still had her eponymous daytime talk show. Why was that an issue? It meant Wells Fargo couldn’t reach the host when they noticed suspicious activity on her account. Wendy recalled:
“What is going on with my son and where is my phone? Where is my phone? Kevin, where is my phone? Why are you keeping my phone? There was nothing that I could do without my phone. Who am I going to call? I don’t know anybody in Miami. I don’t know anybody in Florida, except for my family. And so my son is overspending, and I’m like, ‘Okay, what just going on?’”
Remember that whole debacle with the bank? They froze her accounts and insisted she needed a guardianship as they suspected either “financial exploitation, dementia or undue influence” at the time. Could Kevin have been the problem all along? It shockingly seems that way! When asked about the filing in which Wells Fargo called her a victim of “undue influence,” the television personality slammed her son for being “a horrible person” toward her:
“Listen, my son is a really good person. You know what? I’m not gonna cry about that s**t. Oh, I’m sorry for cursing. Look, my son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me. You know the way he moves with other people, you know? And what’s going on with these other people at my apartment in Miami, what are you doing? Oh, you spent on what? And what is going on at Wells Fargo?”
What Kevin did spend money on was extravagant items! The documentary pointed out that Kevin rented a yacht for $113,000 for his 21st birthday in 2021. However, he drained way more than that from her bank accounts! The US Sun previously revealed he spent $100,000 from her American Express card before Wells Fargo froze the accounts! Jeez! And the situation gets crazier from there!
Wendy also claimed a woman impersonated her to try to steal more money from her — and it was Kevin Jr. who introduced that same woman to the former radio host! Whoa! Wendy explained:
“He has a way of getting with a couple of other people. I’m saying my son is not the only one involved with my money, and by the way, somebody pretended to be me. And it wasn’t anybody in my family. It happens to be a person that I was introduced to by my son. It’s a woman approximately in my age group. This woman on the phone pretending to be me. Red flag, Wells Fargo. Red flag, red flag. And so, red flag. Thank God, they stopped all of the money that had been stolen from me by these people, you know. And they stopped it and fortunately, I still have money left.”
It’s wild to learn all of this! They seemed to be on good terms just two months ago!
Wendy’s niece Alex Finnie went on to slam that her aunt is being treated like a “criminal” at the assisted living facility when “she’s the victim in all of this,” saying:
“If you feel as though she’s a victim, then why are we locking her up like she’s a criminal? If you feel as though there are people who have done or are doing the wrong things in her life, why is she being treated like a criminal? While they’re able to continue doing whatever they’re doing and living their lives. That’s the problem that I have with it.”
Now she’s doing what she can to free Wendy. Alex even hired a high-profile attorney to help fight the guardianship for The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum — and make sure that no one can “exploit” her financially again:
“There is a very robust plan that is going to be put in place to make sure that whoever was at the center of this will not be able to be at the center of this ever again. We can get a bank to be a trustee to make sure that her money is monitored and nobody’s able to financially exploit her. She needs care. You know, you can be a care manager.”
And it sounds like Kevin Jr. is not in the running to be “a care manager” — even though he previously had power of attorney over Wendy! The documentary shared a statement submitted by the judge about her son that read:
“While Mr. Hunter apologized for past mistakes and inappropriate behavior, the court is not convinced that he can keep her safe and wouldn’t willingly or unwittingly expose her to financial exploitation.”
Even Alex doesn’t think Wendy should be placed in Kevin’s care. When asked, she said:
“No, this is how we got here in the first place.”
Whoa…
At this time, Kevin Jr. has not addressed the accusations from his mom. Watch a clip from the documentary (below):
