Kevin Hunter Jr. is off the hook.
Wendy Williams‘ 18-year-old son saw his assault charges dismissed on Tuesday during a court appearance in a New Jersey suburb outside NYC, according to a report in Page Six.

As you’ll recall, the younger Hunter was facing one count of assault after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with his father, Wendy’s estranged husband Kevin Hunter Sr., several months ago in a New Jersey store parking lot.
Prosecutors reviewed the younger Kevin’s case following his initial June 25 court appearance, and ahead of Tuesday’s showing in front of the judge, they ultimately decided not to pursue charges against the teenager.
According to reports from the scene, Kevin Sr. apparently attended the hearing today, too, and explicitly told the judge he agreed with the prosecutor and did NOT want his son facing charges.
That tracks with earlier reports indicating Kevin Sr. never wanted to see his son in legal trouble, and has long been eager to move past the altercation and its aftermath.
Wendy did not attend today’s hearing; she was taping her talk show in NYC at the time. Her appearance marks just her second day back on air after a five-week vacation and hiatus during the middle of the summer.
Things are still far from rosy between the two Kevins, unfortunately; as we’ve been reporting, Kevin Jr. apparently has no interest in rekindling his relationship with his father right now, even after the assault charges have now been dropped.
For his part, Kevin Sr. has floated the idea that Wendy was the one driving a rift between the father and son, leveraging Kevin Jr. against her estranged husband as the divorce moves forward.

No doubt there will be a LOT more drama going down here — especially between Wendy and Kevin Sr. — but hopefully the dropped charges here mean at least one door can be closed and the family can move forward at least a little bit as time wears on.
