April Lavigne‘s tour is soldiering on, and the shiteous reviews keep pouring in!
This time, it’s from Canada’s Globe and Mail.
The title pretty much sums it all up: “She’s like, so whatever.”
The splashy, showy staging, at odds with Lavigne’s early T-shirt wearing, skateboard-riding image, makes for a more production-reliant show than Lavigne and her fans are used to. There are dancers – don’t hold their introduction, a flag-waving run onto the stage, against them; they turn out to be excellent – risers, and strobe light effects. But there are nonetheless some shouts-out to Lavigne’s skateboard-park beginnings, with skull and crossbones imagery splashed across the stage.
It’s all very distracting, but none of it can make up for the worst damn truth about Avril Lavigne: She’s not a very good singer.
Ouch!
Sorry, April.
