Wow! What a progressive step forward!
The Westminster Kennel Club dog show is now going to allow mixed breed dogs to compete!
Sadly, the mutts won’t be able to compete for the best in show award because it’d be too hard to categorize them, but the pups can still compete in the new agility trial at least.
Now mixed breeds like Alfie (above), part poodle, part terrier, can show off their skills!
Alfie’s owner Irene Palmerini picked up the pup in a mall pet store for $99 (although we recommend you adopt and not buy) and couldn’t resist taking him home, and, like she said, “it doesn’t matter who their mother or father is…agility is just about performance.”
Yes! It’s like bigotry against mutts is being changed!
SO glad that Westminster is leading the charge in changing perception about mixed breed dogs.
